This product can be used for 5.1 output from the decoder board in cases where the hobbyist / enthusiast may want to utilise an existing 5.1 speaker configuration, or where a content creator may want to hear what their 4 channel mix will sound like to end-listeners who have 5.1 setups.
No extra power supply is required; the board draws its power from the main decoder module.
